What all do you need to make a 8.8 rearend work?

What all do you need to make a 8.8 rearend work?

I mean what all do you need to make a 8.8 ford rearend work in a camaro...I have a friend that wants to know and I don't have any idea.....He has a chance to get one for free and is wondering if it is worth it or not.....Thanks guys

thanx for the link i did not know that they were doing the conv. here in DFW,

Im the one that was wondering about the 8.8 by the way i was at work and could not post.


looks like im going to get the compleat car for $250 its got lots of mods and i will be parting it out after i can get it torn down less the rearend of corse

so if any of you mustang folks interested in a parts list for the 93gt pm me or post e mail and i will get one out as soon as i can.


and any more info about the 8.8 conv. would be good

You have to weld your stock axle tubes to the 8.8 pumpkin.
You have to make a torque arm mount and weld it to the 8.8 pumpkin.
Your stock 28 spline axles will fit perfect in the 8.8 housing.

You need to heat the 8.8 pumpkin(cast iron I believe) with a torch before you weld to it or the welds won't hold as well.

I think thats it, as long as everything is measured and welded correctly.

He was talking about the axle tubes not fitting in that post not the axles as they will slide right in.
