How can I tell if i have a bad lifter??

Title.. My car is making a tapping noise and at about 2000 rpms cruising the car jerks around and hesitates...

Could be loose rr's?

I would think the only way to see if the lifters are bad is to pull all of them out and check em.

you can pull the valve coveres and push on the end of the rocker that's over the pushrod and see if the lifter colapses

least thats how i'd find one on my '81
