94 and up will require either a code reader or a scan tool.

95 LT1 OBD1 car, but has the OBD2 connector

You're screwed. GM made it very difficult by going with the OBDII connector on an OBDI car. AutoXray has a scan tool that will work with it. Go to their site and read about it. Others may have more suggestions.

how bout the AutoTap? i've seen lots of vendors selling this. anybody got opinions on this one?
