Still getting black smoke...

I had posted a while back that my car was blowing out alot of black carbony smoke. I always get build up on my bumper and can see it in my rear veiw sometimes. I have done the sea-foam flush. Also my car back-fires every now and then as well. Not getting any codes either. (OBDI). Maybe it's a bad O2 or something? I know a little is normal but this seems like too much. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks!

What have you tried doing so far?

I would suggest changing plugs and wires, if you havent allready, and what grade and brand gas are you runing?

Sounds to me like it maybe a bad O2 sensor. Mine was doing the exact same thing and when I changed the O2 sensors, it cleared it right up! Hope this helps,

Ryan

Yeah I was thinking it might be the 02's. Everything in the ignition system is new.

I try different gases to see. Mainly use 93 oct from Chevron and Exxon. I replace the fuel filters regularly as well.

So could that cause my "back firing" flop sound? I think I have an exhaust leak around the y pipe MAYBE. Thats ok because I am ordering a set of Macs and Y pipe tomorrow from Jet Hot. What brand O2's are you guys using? Thanks for the replies guys.

Before you start throwing parts at it, why don't you scan it and see what the sensors are reading? All of them. There are several things that could make your car run rich. The most common 2 I can think of this early in the morning is a hole in the FPR diaphragm. If so the vac line would be wet. The other is a sticky injector.

One other I just remembered is a vacuum leak would cause the mixture to appear lean at the O2's and the PCM would try to richen the mixture.

Just a friendly $.02

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am going to have it scanned again before I do anything. All of the plug wires are in the right place. Maybe I can get it scanned this weekend. I'll post an update.
