My heater just quit!

My heater has been acting up for the last couple of days and today i think it has just about quit. I had it fixed about a couple of weeks ago and now it is messing up again. Worked fine for about 2 weeks but now it blows heat sometimes and sometimes it blows cool. Even with the car fully warm it still blows cool. Sometimes you can cut everything off(defroster, heater, ac) and turn it back on and it will work sometimes. Now that doesnt work I had the guys put all new coolant in, thermostat, waterpump, and everything pretty much else involved in the heating process except the core but im skeptical of that, it doesnt blow any steam through the vents. I really need it going, its really cold here. Please HELP!

Don't be. That's probably your problem.

The reason that your heater probably isn't working is because the heater core is clogged up. Mine did the same exact thing that you explained. All you have to do is back flush the heater core and you will fix your problem. I will say that you might have to back flush it from where it hooks up to the waterpump. I had to because it was clogged even in the lines. Just hook up the hose and watch all the s**t come flying out.

Yeah dude, check your core or flush it. Even with the temp a little above the start mark it should be plenty warm.

If you don't mind, could you give me step by step instructions on how to flush the heater core? Thanks.

Heres how I did it. First I removed both lines that run from the waterpump to the heater core. They both run from the waterpump to the passanger side. One is right below the throttlw body while the other is just below that one on the bottom of the water pump. The one on the bottom is the inlet line and the one on the top is the return. After you get the two disconnected attach a water hose to the return side. Make sure that the open heater hose is not pointing at your opti. Now turn the hose on. Start out slow and then build the water preasure up. When I did it a bunch of stuff came pooring out. Once the water is clear reattach the hoses and be sure to bleed the air out of your cooling system by openning up the bleed screws. Good luck.

ok, thanks man, i understand everything about except the bleeding air part. Do you open the bleed valves up after you reattach both heater hoses and start the engine and then add coolant to your radiator; or do you attach the hoses, start the engine, open the bleed valves and then add the coolant. I hope i didnt confuse you, im very "worriesome" i guess you could say, i just dont want to mess anything up. But thanks for the help!

Reattach the heater hoses, then follow the procedure in your owners' manual for bleeding and adding coolant.
