what year did DRL's come on the Camaro's for U.S. Built vehicles?

i was wondering if anyone knew what the first year a Camaro built for U.S. was equipped with the DRL option.

I'm just curious, just what is DRL? People here generally think we all now what these acronyms mean.

DRL's are daytime running lights.. They always turn on when you start the car as a safety feature so that it's easier for other drivers to see you..
