wiring w/led for electric water pump

I have used a relay and the orange wire from the under hood fuse box to turn the pump on i was trying to use a led (blue) wired up between the fuse and the water pump so i will know if the pump is on when the led is on. if the led is a 5 volt do i need to use any resistors or diode if so what size? i have a diagrahm from akm cables but it does not say anything about resistors.can anyone help thanks!

I bought 2 LEDs with resistors built into them from radio shack for like 2 bucks. One (green) is hooked to the ground line, and the other (red) is hooked to power. If either light fails to light then I know I have a problem, and I can get a idea of which line to chase by the color of the light.

If it's 5 volts, it probably blew.

No clue on the part number. Just find one with a built in resistor. You should be fine
