I'd say between 20 and 40 depending on your mods. Some cars do sown down for some reason though.

I just dynoed my car today and I am putting on some Jet hot LT's on thanksgiving, and I plan on dynoing again. I'll let you know what I get. BTW, I'm installing everything in my sig that says "AWAITING INSTALL"

I just finished a Jet-Hot LT and Hooker y-pipe installation on my car. I already have a before dyno and I'm looking to do another dyno later next week. This will show the HP/TQ gains with only the addition of the Jet-Hot LT headers and Hooker y-pipe because I didn't touch the I-pipe or muffler/tail pipes. I did however change out the original 94k mile plugs & wires for new NGK TR55 plugs and Taylor 8mm wires.

Sweet!
I've got a question for you. I also have a 96 Z28 with Grotty longtubes. I was wondering, if you could give me an assessment on how the plug clearance is on the passenger side, once you get them installed. I'm particular interested on the #4 and #6 plug clearance. I'm thinking about getting the Jet-Hot headers, or the Dynatech at this time.

I picked up 12 whp but the before dyno was done when the car was just fired up and the second dyno was after pulling off of the highway straight on the dyno....no cool down time.....I don't think that the first dyno was a true whp reading.....276 whp before and 288 whp after.....oh and when i got a cutout i un capped it and picked up 12 whp.... but this was after my H/C

When my car still had the stock manifolds and dual cats (stock motor too other than CAI) I did two back-to-back dyno pulls: one with the cutout closed and one with it open. In my case I had the 3" cutout welded into the stock i-pipe right in front of the rear axle. The dyno results showed a gain of ~14rwhp and a loss of ~3rwtq with the cutout open.

EDIT: How much a cutout contributes to your overall RWHP/RWTQ depends heavily on what headers/y-pipe you have on your car. If your running the stock exhaust system front-to-back then a cutout will probably net you 10-15rwhp. However, if you're already running a free-flow cat-back then a cutout may only add 2-5rwhp - you'd notice the added sound more than the power. Dumping the factory manifolds for a nice set of headers will definitely make you smile....trust me!

IMO, a 3" cutout on an LT1 makes it sound like a farm tractor - and I have one on my car that hasn't been opened for quite a while. If you're going to add LTs and want to open up the exhaust a little more without making it too loud or spending a ton more $$$, just replace the restrictive factory muffler for a free-flowing unit like the Hooker Aerochamber (~$85). Or, go for the entire Hooker cat-back system (includes the Aerochamber) for like $265 and be done with it. If you already have a nice cat-back then you're already there!

I picked up 24rwhp with the jethots, but 3mph in the 1/4 in worse weather conditions at the track. It was on a different dyno, and I think the one I went to the second time was more conservative, so I'm guessin i picked up more than 24rwhp.

"AWAITING INSTALL:
Jet hot LT's, Coated ORP, !EGR, !AIR, LT4 KM, NKG iridium plugs and Taylor OTVC wires, MSD coil, 1le elbow, poly torque arm, tranny, and engine mounts"

I have like that same exact combo waiting to go on, except the suspension, and I did an OBD1 conversion. I just wanted to comment that I am glad I'm not the only one who thinks NGK Iridium plugs ROCK out.
