Are SLP Progressive Springs really Eibach?
Are SLP Progressive Springs really Eibach?
I just spoke to the PO and he told me my car has the SLP progressive rate springs that lowered the car about 1/2" in the front and about 3/4" in the rear.
I read that the SLP sways are Addco sways.
Are the SLP springs really Eibach progressive, or another brand?
He told me he bought an "autocross" suspension kit, and he had the same complaint i have with the rear being too stiff.
FWIW, i looked under the car this weekend and all the bushings are red. are there different types of urethane bushings based on the color, or are all the urethane bushings for our cars red?
Again, TIA

To the best of my knowledge, this is in fact true. When I bought the level 2 kit for my car, the Eibach rep at the Camaro show told as much. I have no reason to doubt him.

BTW, since we have you here, what does a 35mm sway cost, and is it imperative to get upgraded mounts with that bar. I seem to recall reading something to this effect somewhere, but I'd just like you to confirm or deny this.
so the sways and trailing arms were designed to work togeher.
the springs were designed to work with other sways and shocks,
and the shocks were designed to work with nothing else listed.
he said it was an autocross package so im wondering if it was designed to run with significantly less rear pressure to be balanced?
also, how do i tell if the sways are solid or hollow?
Sam, what looks right or wrong with the setup on the car? at this stage i'd rather not call you and take up a half hour of your time while i am still going in circles trying to figure out my likes and dislikes.

The ST front bar is $148.00 and comes with all new hardware and urethane bushings. As for the upgraded mounts. Not needed. Those who autox a lot, especially with softer springs (like FS cars) tend to break them, but I've never broken on cars with stiffer springs. Even if you do, the part is like $7.
Sam,
I just spoke to SLP and got the specs on their eibach springs.
Front Rear
K1 285.4 85.1
K2 492.9 191.5
It looks like my fronts are proportionaltely softer than the rears compared to the figures you recalled from your eibachs.
could this be why i think the rear is too bouncy and it not be the rippie bilsteins?
Thanks again

We're probably going to have to talk. Trouble with the net is everything can make some sense, but nothing can ever be clearly explained.
What's wrong with your car specifically? I know I'd be looking into the shocks and the springs. I can't remember what LCA's you have, but if they have urethane bushings it might be hurting especially with a bigger than stock rear bar (both add roll stiffness) and you already have stiffer springs too. All those things together can easily add up to being too much. And considering I'm not sure what's up with the shock valving, it may or maynot be an issue. That's why we'll have to talk, so I can ask questions.
Sam,
right now i have mismatched tires front and rear because i set the car up to autocross last weekend, then my knee decided to lock up.
I bought new Dunlop winter sports (225/55/16) that should go on the car as soon as one 10 spoke 16" rim arrives. when i have a set of matched tires and a fresh alignment i will be able to figure out exactly what is going on. Maybe i just dont like the handling of the Comp TAs that are on the SS 17" rims because the rear feels a lot better with the old goodyears on the salad shooters.
I appreciate your help.
