Question for Sam or other RR experts
Question for Sam or other RR experts
Ok, here's the situation. I've had a couple of 4th gen f-bodies in the past that I've done track days with, but I want some good advice on my new (to me) LT4 Firehawk for track day use. It's got the SLP Level II suspension which is basically what SLP now sells as there Level I aftermarket package: SLP Bilsteins, Eibach springs, 32mm front bar, stock 19mm rear bar, and higher duromemeter busings in the stock LCAs and panhard. Plus of course it has Firehawk 17x9" wheels, which I'm going to mount Nitto 555R IIs on. For track use I'll be taking the rears off and putting on a spare set of 17x11" wheels that have Nitto 555Rs on them. I already plan on putting on SFCs, and an adj panhard rod (w/ rod ends). What else should I look at for the ultimate street/track setup? Keep in mind that I don't what to sacrifice too much ride quality compared to where it is at right now, but I would like to eliminate some of the body roll in cornering. It's a little disconcerting after driving a Z06 and a stiffened C4 that both cornered very flat.
I like stiffer springs rather than bigger sway bars so as to help prevent brake dive ( and hopefully to some extent wheel hop). I have the old Eibachs that max out at 600 lb/in which I feel is fairly minimal for track use and could see going higher. I run the rear quite soft for traction out of slow corners.
Interested in why you want to run 17 x 11s in rear and only 9.5"rims in the front . You will need a lot of negative camber to overcome understeer ( push) with that setup . 17 x 11s all round is a different question .
