Bad Clutch = Bad Rear End?

Hello,

I own a 1996 Z28 M6. Early this spring, the throwout bearing decided it was going to die. I didn't have the cash to replace the whole unit then, so i have been taking it very easy on the clutch and bearing. I am going to replace the clutch/pressure plate with a new SPEC Stage 2 unit over this winter.

My question is, i haven't burned out at all this year, but just the other day in some rain, i decided to be frisky and goose it in an empty parking lot to blow a donut, but only one tire would spin and a high pitched whine accompanied my painfully crappy attempt at a donut. I left the parking lot and goosed it to see if it was my imagination, and both tires spun like usually would happen. Just a few minutes ago, i washed my car on my lawn, and upon backing off the lawn, only one tire spun again. I didn't even feel it break loose, and the only way i knew was by discovering the divot in my lawn.

All last year when i did burnouts, both tires spun, never failing. Then the clutch went bad and i've been babying it. The car shakes at steady RPM, kind of lurching, but just barely noticeable unless you look for it. I'm figuring the clutch is slipping ever so slightly. The shake is more prominant during harder accel.

My question is: Why is only one tire spinning at some times, and both others now? Is it because the clutch isn't putting enough force back to lock the rear? Or am i missing something? I just can't understand it, it was fine under hard use, but when it's babied only one spins? Any ideas or are you guys laughing too hard to respond to my post?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

~~edit~~ The car has about 96,000 miles on it, and i was informed that this is the second clutch due to throwout bearing problems in the past.
