flushing/bleeding brakes
flushing/bleeding brakes
I want to get new fluid into my system. Is it possible to flush the old fluid thru the bleeders while leaving the calipers on? More importantly, what would be the proper procedure for doing so?
I was thinking of pumping the fluid out starting with the closest caliper til it runs clean. Then move from closest to farthest caliper. Once i had it all clean, i was gonna bleed the proper way. Thanks for any help and tips.

I made a simple home made tool to do this.
Take a thick metal plate a little bigger than the
master cly. Drill and tap for a air fitting. Glue rubber gasket material to the bottom of the plate. Clamp with a C-clamp.
Drop compressor regulator to about 10 PSI.
Hook up hose and now you have a easy bleeder that you can use without a helper. Its been a life saver for me.
Just use a turkey baster to empty the M/C, fill with clean fluid.
Do wheel one at a time in the order above till you see clean fluid coming out of the bleeders.
Just make sure to go back and refill the M/C periodicly while you are bleeding.
