3.42s in a a4.... worth it or not.

is putting the 3.42s in a4 is it worhth it or not the gears where free but is it worth the time to do. what are some of yalls feeelings on this. the car has 3.23s now. or would it be better to go 3.73.

well if labor is free go for it.373's are the gear of choose for an a4.If you have to pay for labor you can spend the $300.00 plus install kit else where.

I have them in my car, and have no complaints. They came with the car though, so I can't tell you how much of a difference they make. Can't speak for the 3.73's though.

It's <10% gear change, just probably barely enough to notice. I think they are a great upgrade for 2.73s on a budget. You might be dissappointed if you already have 3.23s. If you actually enjoy working on your car and you can pick up the whole axle cheap and swap it yourself then you aren't paying all that labor to someone else and it would be a nice upgrade if you strapped for cash. 3.73s are definitly a better choice though if you have the money to throw around.
