Angry Anyone else have a SERIOUS vibration after installing a star spec clutch?

I decided to go with the star spec stage one clutch and I think I am sorry I did. I installed it on Monday and now I have a horrible vibration when I take my foot off the clutch. It is worst in 1st and reverse, I think because there is such a difference between the motor and tranny speed. Has anyone else had this problem with a star or any other clutch? I called star and they said I may have some vibration as the clutch breaks in, but I think this is a little excessive. I have only put about 75 miles on it, and it does not seem to be getting any better.

Sounds like your clutch disc is out of balance to me.

Is it common for star clutches to have an unbalanced clutch disk?
I thought star was one of the better clutches for out cars?

By the way I did turn the flywheel.

Are you talking about when you engage the clutch....if so that would be chatter and it will get better after 300- 400 miles of stop and go to break it in.

Yes, when I take my foot off the clutch and the clutch engages. It is not clutch chatter, it chattered a little before, that is why I turned the flywheel. This is a vibration. If I engage the clutch slow enough I can hear the rear hatch rattle the vibtration is so bad.

The problem is that it is a Spec clutch, cheaply made. Getting ready to post a thread as to what I have found out doing a little investigating into my own clutch problem.

Your problem is you cut your flywheel. Spec says NOT to do with with their clutches or ANY after market clutches, they said if you do you will get bad vibrations and uneven wear. Thats what they said and shops I have been to.

If you have the Cluth all the way out in 1st gear does it do it?(Foot off clutch peddle)And you should always have the flywheel resurfaced when putting in a new clutch.(which you did)

I bought the stage II with aluminum flywheel. It came with all the components "balanced" together. I had a bad vibration at 2500rpm and above. I ended up removing the whole thing and had a machine shop balance it correctly. Spec only paid for the rebalance not the labor removing it!

No, it only happens as the clutch is engaging. once I am in gear and my foot is off the pedal everything is normal.

That is what I would call chatter! My carbon fiber stage 3 does the same thing I just let out the clutch fast. What gear do you have when I had 3.42's it was really bad. Went to 4.10's and that helped it out alot gets the car moving faster and you dont have to slip it as much.
