Suspensions and bans for political comments
I realize that generally this is given more of a cut it out and be reasonable attitude, but could it start being handled a little more...well directly?
Just worried the lounge is going to become an even more hostile place with the huge influx of infighting from the coming election.

Standard infractions will apply like any other year or time of the year. Report them if you see them so they can be evaluated and dealt with.
I think most here know the rules by now and I don't expect this to be a problem.

maybe since its an election year we can allow political threads just to spice things up a little??

Nope. Been tried and failed every time. This site is not good for political discussions. Others are and that is where they should be.

Thanks, I was just going to post that one. Appears to be a good site and been running for a while now.
Make no mistake, a responsible forum owner never wants to ban anyone, but there are some problems that the same forum owner doesn't want to compromise the harmony of his community, either.

Vote for me! My platform is as follows:
1) Personal responsibility. People need to excercise more common sense. If they do not, then they deserve whatever misery is coming their way. It'll help them learn.
2) Manditory 24 hour driver's school for ALL licensed motor vehicle operators, at least once every four years, to include 50% classroom instruction and 50% road instruction at a certified track. Teach defensive driving skills and require operator to demonstrate those skills for recertification. If they can't pass, then they take the bus until they can pass the test. We lose 50,000 Americans a year in automobile accidents. Mostly due to alcohol, and ignorant driving technique. This measure will save countless lives, and also foster the development of more race tracks throughout the USA.
3) Nationwide alternative energy via solar and wind power. People who say it's too expensive are just stupid naysayers. There was a time when we had no national interstate system, and no power grid at all. I bet that the construction of our intertstate system and national power grid were a lot harder to construct than what it would take to build tomorrow's solar and wind farms. All it takes is vision. The bulk of the USA was electrified over the course of only ten years. Before that, it was only in local municipalities where you would find electricity.
4) More motorcycles for the masses. They are easier on the environment and a whole lot more fun than a Prius! Just so long as you keep a decent muffler on that thing!
