Not sure how hard it would be to modify this on vBulletin, but I've seen it done elsewhere....

When people use the quote feature, have it automatically remove the image tags.

Good example is the 'Show your perfect 10' thread. There are like 6 pictures in the entire thread, and they are all show like 4 or 5 times because of people over using the quote function.

Anyway just a suggestion, and loving the site.

 

On LS2 I believe all quoted pictures become thumbnails. They're vBulletin over there as well, so I'm sure we could do the thumbnails.

I think thumbs will be the better choice, that way people can easily tell what the person is quoting.

I agree, I hate it when people quote a post and we end up with about 3 feet of the same images again.

 

We have been looking into this recently, and we agree. Until we can find something that we feel is written well enough to not hack things up too much, please remind people who do it to stop doing it...when they do it. Right.

 

I was just doing a little bit of quick reading and it looks like they will make an admin-configurable option to have the attachments resize in the posts like it does on my site and many others.

So keep your eyes peeled for the update. He said for it to work its only 'trivial code' I guess meaning its something really simple, I wish I could help you out with the code, but I spend all my time on phpBB/Nuke....Thanks for listening though Jason.

I've always used the Microsoft image resizer with good results. It's free as well. It works pretty good too, judging by the quality of it shrinking my genitals small enough to be used as an avatar with no graphical loss.

Yep, I found a few that I have been contemplating. They resize the images which is probably a good start, but doesn't remove them from the replies.

Definitely something that I am very interested in making happen. Let me know if you happen to find some more things I cna look at, and I will continue the search on my end.
