Quote message in Quick Reply

I think it'd be nice if the default was to quote the message in Quick Reply. In my case, QR is only used when replying to a post so I always check this. A lot of the time, though, I wind up hitting Enter and submitting the post without checking the box, which means I have to go back and manually edit and include the quote in my reply.

If setting the default to 'checked' isn't doable, how about making the checkbox the next Tab location from the reply box (so when I type a reply I can Tab to the checkbox, then to the Post button). It doesn't make much sense to Tab to the checkbox after the Post button.

Re: Quote message in Quick Reply

Okay, I did some checking into this and testing. The problem is...in order to use the Quote in a quick reply, you need to select the QR button in one of the posts or the system won't know which post to Quote.

However, you don't need a click anything to enter a quick reply without a quote. Just select the quick reply text area and start typing.

If I make the checkbox checked by default, someone cannot uncheck it if they need to without clicking a QR button. This is kinda confusing and people may not get it.

I think I can change the tab order...but the same would apply...in order to tab to it...you will need to click the QR button in the post you want to quote. Otherwise when you hit tab, it will just bypass it. Will this still work for you?

I agree, I'd be confused if I had to hit the QR button to uncheck the box.

I only need to tab to the checkbox when I hit the QR button, so your solution would work. In the case where I just type into the box, I don't need the quote.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Quote message in Quick Reply

Any news on this?

Maybe I'm the only retarded one on the site, but I keep clicking QR, typing a reply, and then submitting without remembering to actually move my mouse and check the box.
