Exhaust drone

Just asking if any others have a very annoying 2000 rpm drone in 6th gear, 2013 2SS 6m, just got the car with 10k miles on it. My 97Z doesn't have this problem. Ive heard a J-pipe can take care of this has anybody tried install them?

Re: Exhaust drone

Yeah, that 2,000 rpm drone in 6th gear is a pretty common complaint on 6-speed 2SS models. It’s usually caused by resonance in the exhaust or drivetrain at cruising speeds. Some owners have had luck reducing it with a J-pipe install, which changes the exhaust flow and helps cancel out the vibration, but it’s not guaranteed to fix it completely. Other options people try include resonator deletes, aftermarket mufflers, or even adding sound-deadening material https://tropical-casino.com/ under the car or in the cabin to make it less noticeable. It’s mostly a matter of tuning the exhaust setup to your tolerance.
