93 z28 lt1 starting and running issues

Im having a bit of a issue keeping my car running. It was running fine until recently. It would stall out and not start back up. After sitting awhile it would fire up and run for about 15 minutes then die. Ive replaced the spark plugs, alternator, check the battery. Im down to two options either the optispark or fuel pump. Any advice?

In the course of these parts replacements, have you scanned the PCM for codes? Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Have you considered the possibility of a faulty ignition control module (ICM) suffering from heat soak? When it cranks but won’t start, have you checked for spark at the plugs?

Ive checked the plugs for spark and checked the fuel pressure. I currently dont have a scanner that will work on this car. So no i havent scanned for codes.
i actually didnt take into account the ICM. I'll have to get with my friend about using his scanner or purchase one myself.

Re: 93 z28 lt1 starting and running issues

Have the ICM tested at a parts store. Make sure they heat it up good.

You don’t need a scanner for a 1993 LT1. All you need is a paper clip.
