97 SS Power windows not working, help?

Hey guys I have a 97 SS Camaro 6spd and my power windows have quit working. I just ordered two new power window motors (drivers side with a new window regulator) and I want to put relays on each window and run power straight from the power junction to each relay. I have seen a kit for this (I can't remember the place that sells it) can you guys help me out? Also I remember reading here about doing a "Retain Accessory power" bypass but I'm not sure if my 97 has that or is everything controlled thru the BCM (body control module) and is it necessary to bypass the BCM?

Autotrix makes a kit that helps with power to the passenger side window. Not sure I've heard of anything for both sides.

RAP is part of the BCM in 96/97.

I used your link to autotrix, and towards the end of the info they say that it also will work for the Drivers side too.

They have kits for both. The drivers side kit is different because it needs to support the express-down feature. They also have one that adds express-down to the passenger side.

The power windows are supplied power via a 30-amp circuit breaker in the end of dash panel. Did you check that?

There web site says you can use the same kit for both sides, but like you stated, it wouldn't have the express down feature. Those are $34.99 each. If you want the express down feature, they are $134.99 each. I guess each person would just have to decide if they feel they need or want the express feature for the additional cost.

Thanks so much guys I'll get the kits from autotrix and Fred I will check that 30 amp relay and see if it's the problem.

It's not a relay. It's a circuit breaker. Acts just like a fuse - opens the circuit when excessive amps overheat it. But unlike a fuse, the breaker "resets" itself when it cools down.
