do wires make a difference

I have been looking around to see if a coil and wire change will get me more hp and even more mpg and i have seen a lot of different thing i have seen wires that are the same size as stock or thicker, that they come in all different colors but i have headers so i know it will be getting hotter by the headers then what stock is, and for coils i hear the stock works just fine is that true is there does anyone make an aftermarket coil that works better ???

Re: do wires make a difference

From what I have seen there is little to nothing to gain over the stock LS3 stuff.

They will make a difference if your engines has 700hp where you need a hotter spark. I'm not sure what is the best way to get more hp out of the 5th gen. look into getting a Cold air intake and better flowing exhaust

Sir, you have a 48K coil with a maximum 10" wire going straight to the spark plug, even with a high resistance wire, YOU CAN POWER UP FRANKENSTIEN WITH IT!!!

Re: do wires make a difference

In a mostly stock engine you'll notice zero difference from swapping out the wires. Put your money into other mods if you want a performance increase. Nice bright colored wires look nicer though.
