Running on 7 cylinders?
Running on 7 cylinders?
So, as I'm fidling wth my AC to try and get it running, now I believe the car is only running on 7 cylinders. The car has been running great for over a month now, since replacing the plugs ang wires. I'm thinking there's a lose cnnection, probably heading into the housing. I'll double check for burnt wires. Anyways, it sucks to have to crawl under the car in 115 degree wheather. Anything else I need to check for while I'm in there? The car has just it 102,000 miles
Re: Running on 7 cylinders?
one way to check for spark would be to get an inductive timing light (the cheapest autozone ones are $40, so it may or may not be worth it to you), and check each wire as the engine is running. good luck!
Re: Running on 7 cylinders?
Well, just got back from looking over the car. It seems like the wires are in good condition. I did not see a light show last night as I was told to look for. The only thing I did to the car was to add a couple of cans of the R 134 refrigerent and remove the PCM fuse to get the compressor going again. After that it's been running rough. It idles fine, doesb't get hot. I checked the oil and water levels and they are fine. I looked for any hoses that might have torn and came loose. It looks like it's going to the shop again? Anything over 200 and I'm riding my bike, so tired of spending money on this car.
Re: Running on 7 cylinders?
Hello again, before I take it in to the shop again, thought I'd ask one more thing. Is there any way that removing the PCM Fuse to reset the computer to get the AC compressor going cause a short/trigger the misfire. IIRC, it started to misfiring just as the compressor was kicking on. Is this a coincidence or is there something to it?
