Check out my Pedal Assembly. It came out awesome!!
Doing a t-56 conversion. figured I would do it right and take the time to detail almost every part. It only took some rustolium to make these look awesome. Primer then metallic silver 2 coats, simple. then the pedal over lays... they look awesome. I am so happy with the results. Also doing the rag joint eliminator at the same time. my steering was rusted together pretty good!
Question: I am converting from auto to manual. It is my understanding that since I dont have the wire harness for the clutch switch... I have to tap into the brake pedal switch.... Am I right?
I swapped over one sensor from the brake pedal and one regular switch as it appears... I amn missing the retainer clip for the clutch master i guess. It must be just like the brake master retainer clip. Am I correct?
AM I MISSING ANYTHING? I have gone to that dang dealer so many times.... Just trying to get a list. I have everything else I guess...

The retainer clip is the same as the brake one. You don't need to tap into the brake switch. If you want everything like the factory you will need another of the white switchs for the clutch pedal and a Y-harness to connect the two switchs. Then the Y-harness connects to the under dash harness.
I am a little awrey on the y harness explaination... So you just take the two clutch switch wires and tap into the brake switch wires? or what is this Y we are talkin about here? Does anyone have a picture of the wiring? or a diagram? People explain things differently but pictures tell a thousand words. if I see somthing I will understand in a second. I am MECP certified and went to school for stuff like this. Installing one more switch is easy stuff compared to tearing the car apart to install a security system and finding all the factory wires that are buried. Know what I'm sayin?
"the y harness connects to the underdash harness"
I can splice wires together without using a special harness if thats what we are talking about here.
What harness? what wires? That go where?
SIMPLIFY PLEASE!

I paid $105 but you can get it on gm parts direct for $55! It is all markup for the dealership. I have the part number if you need it... If you are switching from auto to manual you will need to buy the retaining clip like the one that is on the brake master, and if you want it to be like stock you need to add a switch for the clutch switch. Haven't found much info about the wiring of the pedal assembly to make it like factory. everyone seems to take shortcuts...
You don't need to do anything to the brake switch. On the auto there are two connectors that go to the switch. The larger connector is for the brake lights. The smaller one is for the torque converter lockup disconnect so when you press the brakes the torque converter unlocks. Just hook the brake switch up the same on the m6 pedals as it was on the auto pedals. You can leave the torque converter connector unhooked if you want to. It doesn't do anything on the m6.
The smaller white switch on the auto pedals is for the cruise control. It turns the cruise off when you step on the brake. On the m6 there are two of these switchs. If you use both switchs you will need the Y-harness. It connects to the two white switchs and then to the original under dash connector that was connected to the single white switch on the original auto pedals. If you only use the single white switch you can just hook it up the same as it was originally. If you only use the brake cruise switch then the cruise won't turn off if you press the clutch pedal with the cruise control engaged.
If you only use your original switchs just hook everything up as it was. If you add the second cruise switch you need the Y-harness between the two cruise switchs and the original connector that went to the single cruise switch.

So your telling me that the other white switch on a manual is for the cruise control cutoff just like the brake one?
In that case it is simple to splice another switch pigtail into the same circuit and make it work to shut off the cruise. Easy.
I thought there was some kind of input for not letting the car start unless the clutch is pushed down... If that is the case then what switch is that?
What about the small black thing with two wires coming out in the original picture that I posted 9not my pedal assembly). There are mounting holes for somthing there under/near the white clutch push pin switch. Doesn't look like a switch though... Maybe it is a mounting bracket for somthing else that just happens to be built into the pedals and in that picture somone just cut the whole thing out instead of disconnecting the small black thing from the harness???
What are your thoughts/ experience? I can get by without the switch in there. Just have to be careful.

On your picture the black switch with the cut wires on the far left is the starter interlock switch. They just cut the wires and left the connector in the switch. It is pressed in when you push on the clutch pedal to allow the car to start. If you want to use it you will need to run the two largest wires from the six wire connector that was on your auto shifter to that switch. The switch just slides into the two elongated holes. If you get a switch it will be obvious how it mounts.
Yes both white switches are for the cruise control. The clutch one on the far left of your picture appears to have the Y-harness still connected to it. The one for the brake pedal is barely visible behind the brake switch.
I used all the switchs on my conversion since I wanted it to be as close to factory as possible. You can just use the two switches that were on your auto pedals if you want. If you don't use the starter interlock switch just connect the two wires from the six wire connector together instead of running them to the switch. The wires have to be connected or run to the switch or your starter won't work. The only difference is you can start the car in gear if you just connect the wires together. I've had several cars like that and never had a problem. If you don't use the cruise control switch on the clutch pedal just make sure you don't push in the clutch pedal with the cruise engaged.

Nice bro, you explained it right. it's ok if you get technical with me I am a geek
Literally I was in the geek squad and was a DJ and I am MECP (mobile electronics certified professional) Figuring out all the itty gritty little things in the conversion is tricky. It would have been easier if I had a used pedal assembly but I am glad I went all new.

Figured it all out. The white switch is another cruise control disengage switch and there is another switch for the >push clutch to start< switch. Simple. The white switch can be a simple push pin switch that is tied into the circuit of the other white switch on the brake pedal.
When you order the pedal assembly it comes bare. Almost even slightly rusting sometimes. I sprayed mine odwn with silver rustoleum and did a bunch of coats all over.
There is a clip to hold the rod for the master cylinder (brake and clutch master) and they both need the clip. When converting from auto you need to order this tiny part. the electrical is up to the person for safety. I just need ot buy this clip and my adjustable master cylinder now. I found it online at this random site for $160. that is pretty cheap compared to most places and it says lt1 not ls1 like some of them say. (just to be safe) The CAR IS ALMOST READY!!

i will take a final pic when they are complete. They look better now!....The over lays that I had I dont even remember buying so long ago.. I had them around and they are made for a camaro, not universal. the screws match up in the exact right places if it is done right. I had to use a really sharp drill bit, you would not believe how tough the steel is on those pedals!
But I started with a small bit and worked my way up, Tightened everything down. The gas pedal is easy. You have to make sure you mount it so the right edge and bottom of the overlay matches the true right edge and bottom of the pedal. The brake and gas are close and the clutch is more off to the side and this is further exaggerated with the overlays which is awesome because is it that much more performance upgraded vs. stock old lady gm parts.
I painted the sensors too... Silver
