Zaino Z-PC Questions

I was wondering how well this Z-PC works by hand? I did a search and some people actually seemed to not like the Z-PC that much... I do not have bad scratches but if you look at the car in the right angle, you can see them. Also on the top of my car I have these spots that look either oxidized or burned (rotory)through, im not sure, they have been there since I bought the car.

Will the Zaino Z-5 do enough to mask these little scratches or is the Z-PC necessary?

Another related question: With Zaino should you work the polish in with circular or linear motion?

i wasnt overly impressed with the zpc, at least not for the price and extra cost of shipping. work zaino up/down or back/forth. never circular

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

It's hard to answer your questions without actually seeing the imperfections. Have you used any of the Zaino products on theh car yet? A clay bar might be able to remove some of the "spots", while a few coats of Z-5 / Z-2 will mask minor scratches.
Also with the Z-PC I think you're supposed to apply and remove it in a circular motion, while the other Zaino products follow the "grain" of the car.

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

ZPC when doing spot repairs is fine to use by hand for small scratches, if you plan on buffing the entire paint surface you will be best served by using a buffer.

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

I'm in agreement with KevinSS, re; Z-PC. I only use it on "spot repairs".

This is taken from www.zainobros.com, re; polish application.
Squirt a dime size dab of polish on your applicator and rub it into your paint using circular hand motions. Then, go over the same area using a straight back and forth motion on top panels and an up and down motion on side panels.

I agree^^ I used a orbital buffer (Dewalt 849) on like 1800rpm using a yellow foam waffle pad...I only used the ZPC once on my car, i would like to try it again

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

I can take some pictures tomorrow on the major spot I want to fix. Im really not sure what it is; oxidation or cutted through. The rest of the car is in really good shape I would say.

The car has never been Zaino'ed. In the past I have claybared it every spring and then I just put a coat of Meguiars Show Class or something like that every week or so. I have run out of that after 1 year. I started using Meguiars before I ever heard of Zaino. Results were ok but the wax does not really last that long and the shine leaves things to be desired. My uncle has a Zainoed S2000 that really looks good. So I am going to use the Zaino.

Here lies another problem. I do not have a buffer and I cant bring myself to spend 100 bucks on top of another I will spend on Zaino. This is another thing that is attracting me the Zaino system is that it is reccomended to be put on by hand (polishes at least).

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

ah well i didnt even see you had a white car, im thinking a darker color...

Personally i wouldnt even bother with the ZPC then, I would Clay the car really good, apply like 2 coats of Z5, and 2 coats of the Z2 pro (all by hand)..you'll be happy

my sig pic is after i did the ZPC, 2 coats of Z5, and 2 coats of Z2 Pro

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

I think I have some idea what you're talking about. I had similar marks on a black motorcycle. I agree you might want to try a mechanical buffer and some compound on the whole piece. It's difficult to mess up using an orbital buffer but if you simply don't want to spend the money on your own supplies, you might get a friend to do it for you. Then you can take it from there with the Zaino products.
BTW I call it the roof hoop

Re: Zaino Z-PC Questions

that looks like it will have to painted bro. diffinetly not something you will fix by hand no matter what you use. try some dark color match wax before getting into anything drastic.

Agreed. You need new paint.
