Zaino and clay bar

Going to apply my second coat of Zaino....

Can I clay my car first without having to reapply Z-1 or can I just pick up from the Z-2 after Claying.

Thanks

If you only have 1 coat on your car and going to clay, I'd use the Z-1 again. A light claying will remove only a negligable amount of Zaino. But, if this is the first time claying your car you'll probably remove the Zaino in some areas.

Ditto what Kevin said. I've clayed over Z (multiple coats) several times and it really didn't affect the Z much if any. However, with only one coat, a very small portion is going to be removed. Plus when the clay pulls out the contaminants, it leaves tiny "holes" of unprotected areas that would need some Z. So, this is another good reason to add a quick coat after claying. When you polish over the contaminants you're really applying Z to those particles. After they are pulled up, it leaves a very very tiny area that is unprotected. Another coat will help fill in any missed areas or portions that the clay itself may have removed. After you build up a few coats, the clay won't have much affect on the multiple layers, however there will still be the tiny areas or "holes" left unprotected, so I will usually add another coat just for good measure anyhow.
