What to use to wash tires?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what do you guys use to wash your tires? What products do you use and what do you put on it afterwards to make it shine? I've used armorall and it's ok but I was wondering if there is anything better out there? Thanks

Yikes Armor All!

I use soapy water from a car soap like Zaino Z7 with an old wash mitt. But, a light cleaner like Simple Green and a wheel brush works great too.

For dressing the tires, Zaino Z16. Armor All actually does more harm than good causing rubber to possibly crack, discolor, and fade. Other good tire products: 303 Aerospace, Meguiar's #40...

For years I have used Soft Scrub and a brush to clean the tires. I started doing that when my '83 Camaro had the Goodyear Eagle ST raised white letter tires; Soft Scrub really cleaned them up nicely. But I am sure Simple Green will do the same for you too.

I agree with Mike about the Z-16, I use it to finish off the tires once they are dry. It produces a nice, non greasy-looking shine.

I personally simply spray back to black on my wheels. As far as the rims, I spray the castrol rim cleaner stuff on, hose it off quickly, and then dry my rims with a paper towel. Look in sig. as to how it looks when cleaned. Maybe not the best job in the world, but it's not too bad.
