Upholstrey cleaning. What works best!?
 

What is the best remedy or product you guys have found to clean the cloth seats on our cars? My tan interior needs a little TLC, and I've tried those autozone carpet cleaners with the little brushes on top, and they work a little but not nearly good enough. Any nice chemicals I can mix up? Thanks!

I've found that sometimes a carpet cleaner and cotton rag/towel (instead of brush) works pretty good.

I've had good luck with Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner on the '99 Grand Prix I recently purchased. I'm the original owner on my other two vehicles and I just don't let them get dirty, it's a lot less work than scrubbing.:D

Upholstery is tricky - you have to remember what is under the cover is foam and once something gets in it, it gets out too.
Find something that is a "dry" clean method - ChemDry has containers of it at most stores (Costco is cheapest) and it removes most all stains on the cover without drawing up anything in the foam.

If you have spilled coffee with cream and sugar on the seats it will surface after a few days (coffee black won't do this) so if you can, unbolt the seat and find the "flap" on the bottom where you can slip your hand up under the cloth. Put a thick dry towel between the foam and cover then clean the upholstery. Its a pita but the only way to keep stains from resurfacing if you are intent on DYI.

The same stuff can be used on the carpet without fading or damage to the pad. Just steer clear of 'wet' cleaning, you'll get better results.
