Polshied fins..for Intake..
Hi guys, just wanna know how you guys polish the fins on the LT1 intake. I just got my LT4 intake back form LE Portworks, but the fins have seen better days..would 320grit bring them back to life? I don't want a mirror finish just for them to look clean.

I actually take either a dremel or power tool with a wire wheel. I hit it with that and then follow up with some blingmaster (yea the name sucks but the stuff works). Looks pretty good after that.
I would throw some high temp clear on it to keep it looking good.

Re: Polshied fins..for Intake..
I did a TPI plenum once. I used a palm sander, starting with 200 grit and working up to 1500 grit, then followed with 0000 steel wool. After that, I buffed it with polishing compound, then simichrome and a coat of wax. It looked like Chrome with a mirror finish. It looks like *** now that I haven't kept up after it for a few years. BTW, I did it with the intake off.

that aluminum polish that comes in a silver can and is on cotton inside it... cant think of the name but thats what I used before and it shines the crap out of that alluminum,
lol reminds me of the time my buddy asked me how he could save his polished alum intake after he sprayed with deep purple... and basically etched the thing.... oh man..... but that stuff in the silver can works miracles with oxidation on any metal surface.
