Post First black car. really need some help.

Ok guys i have waxed cars before, but that is about it. I have a black 95 formula that needs some attention badly. I was going to buff it out, but things came up and i can't.

1)I have a few scratches that are pretty bad. what would i use to rub them out?

2) my whole care has tiny tiny scratches and swirl marks all over. What should i use to get rid of them?

3) what should i use to dry and wash my car? Where would i get 100% cotton towles?

I was thinking that I should wash the car. Clay bar it. then use 3M perfect-it II to try and get the big scratches out. Then use the 3M swirl mark remover. The use meguirs three step (but haven't decided on that)

Should i use 3M perfect-it II on the whole car then the Swirl remover on the whole car? because the paint really needs to be cleaned and shinned up

sorry for so many questions but i am lost.
thanks
Tom

3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009

see above

I dry with cotton towels or The Absorber, buy only Fieldcrest Charisma towels or Fieldcrest Royal Velvets, you can buy them in malls or I stock them already cut, sewn and prepped. To wash you car use the car wash the compliments your car wax or polish.

Meguiars 3 step and all that 3M would be over kill, the 3M steps eliminate the 1st and 2cd step of the Meguiars system, after I used the 3M I would of course use the non abrasive Zaino polishes.

Should i use 3M perfect-it II on the whole car then the Swirl remover on the whole car? because the paint really needs to be cleaned and shinned up

I would just stick with the 3m Swirl Remover all over first, always use the least abrasive way first to see if it works.

thanks for all the help? If the 3M swirl mark remover doesn't work on the big scratches should use the 3M perfect It-II or something other method? Also is applying the 3M by hand going to work ok? or do i have to use a buffer? Also should i clay bar the car? And i do that before everything else, right?
thanks again
Tom

For heavier scratches I prefer 3M Finesee It II and yes you will want to clay bar first. You really can not get the good out of the 3M abrasives unless you have the speed of an orbital buffer, you can not generate the speed and heat by hand to break down the abrasives.
