Cleaning up brake lens
My 3rd brake light lens is all oxidized and nasty looking... It's lost it's luster and ability to shine through brightly.
Is there anyway to clear it up and restore it's original condition? The cloudy look is gross.
If not I can always just go buy a new lens (it's like, $15.00 or something). I just haven't had the free time to go down to the dealership, and if I can spend the 25 minutes cleaning up my current part, all the better.

Re: Cleaning up brake lens
You can use a heavy cutting plastic polish and a buffer pad followed by a mild abbrasive and protectant like Plexus, but if the only thing you're going to buy all that stuff for is the center brake light cover, it'll be more cost and time effective to just buy a new one. Then again with the polishing solution you can give the same treatment to all of your exterior plastic pieces including your tail lights, headlights, and foglights.
Re: Cleaning up brake lens
you can wetsand it with 2000 grit sand paper and then buff with a mild compound with a whool pad, and then after that use a light compound with a foam pad to give it the luster you're looking for. This will give you the best results.
