On a side note, why are you gonna go through the hassel of using the claybar just to put Meguiars on? As far as wax, goes, its OK, but not worth the hassel of the claybar. You may not want to hear this, but if you are gonna go this far, use Zaino. It will look and last much much longer.

Regardless of what polish or wax you plan to use, prepping the car, including claying the surface to remove the contaminants will give you better results.
For example, a young guy came by to buy some Zaino to try out, but to make a good impression, he detailed his car (Mequires) before coming over. When talking about the various products and Zaino I asked him if he wanted to get some clay to prep his surface properly. He said "take a look at this car its perfect". I asked him to place his hand in a baggie and run it across his rear bumper. He couldn't believe just how rough and just how bad it felt. I clayed the area lightly and he rubbed it again. He was amazed at the difference, it was now completely smooth. Then he noticed something else, his reflection was much more clear without any polish on it and just being clayed, then with a fresh coat of "wax".
In case you missed the point, the end result can't look any better than the surface under it. Prepping and claying the surface will allow you to get the best results.

if your referring to DAWN dishwasher soap i wouldnt use it, it strips your car of its wax, i use MEGUIARS and its great, i do the step system.
