Re: Only getting Positive fuel trims

I haven't dyno'd it yet, but we think it's pushing a around 400hp at the crank. My buddy has a '05 Vette. Those are rated 400hp at the crank if I remember right...it generally runs [email protected] in the...

Re: Only getting Positive fuel trims

Nothing jumps out at me in the tune that would cause this problem. If changing that table back to stock fixed it, I'd say leave it set to stock values. I really don't see any value in not having some...

Re: 500whp LS3 swap build!

Were you pretty much stock LS1 in the engine department? If so, a 500whp LS3 is going to make those track days much more exciting! =)

I think you made the right choice on the headers. I've...

Re: Only getting Positive fuel trims

I think that is just startup enrichment. I wouldn't think it should be jacking up your fuel trims unless it's being used to try and to compensate for some kind of fueling issue.

Can you post up...

Re: Only getting Positive fuel trims

I think it's the OBDII pcm or the way the pid commands are being pulled from it. With Scan9495 on an OBDI PCM, it gets some crazy fast pid update rates compared to my OBDII setup. I've got Autotap...

Re: 94 LT1 Corvette owner from Sweden having Opti problem

Sounds like to me it may be something in the opti that the cold spray could have moved or something he disturbed(wiring maybe) when injecting the cold spray.

Only other thing I can think of would...

Re: Engine running hot at idle solved.

Yep, that's where my normal cruise coolant temps are with my 160* stat. Closer to the 180* side.

Re: Engine running hot at idle solved.

My '96 works differently(per Shoebox and Injuneer above), but my main point is no matter what the AC system is doing, the PCM will keep the temp below ~230 sitting in traffic or at idle by cycling...

Re: Engine running hot at idle solved.

At idle, per stock, the cooling fans should be cycling on and off(independent of the AC system). Engine temps will climb to around 220-230, fans will turn on, cool it down to around 200, fans will...

Re: ScannerDanner troubleshoots an LT1 ignition issue...

I didn't get that impression from your comment. I agree with you that for the general person trying to decipher LT1 ignition issues(or F-body issues in general), Shoebox's site is a good place to...

Re: ScannerDanner troubleshoots an LT1 ignition issue...

In the Buick Know How video on the opti, the tech 1 points to DTC 41 as "IGN Control Open CKT" (14:55 in that video). So, his scanner tool does have the code description off....which is not unusual...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

The LT1 intake is dry. No coolant flows through it, so no worries there.

Phoenix, there is nothing wrong with taking the road less travelled. You are certainly getting ready to do that......However, when I started "racing" my Dad told me this.....be sure to have your...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

He's had a number of threads on LS1tech on the subject. He's got it in his head to spend a lot of money to go slower. Normally, I don't care what folks do with their cash, but from what I understand,...

Re: Cheap good optispark?

This one is not cheap(more on par with AC Delco remans without a core), but some of the folks on LS1tech are reporting that this opti is giving good results.

Re: LT1 pulls 1,490 RWHP

That is stout number. It does look like a turbo poking out near where the stock air box would be. I'm loving that color. :D:D:D

I've really got to get the nose of my Z painted. That one looks so...

No worries, I totally get where you are coming from. I agree it would be an uphill battle with the LS sites already established.

This is just me being optimistic, but brand recognition is a...

Re: Engine swap 95 LT1 to 83 Camaro

Yeah, it's sad to see. I think Chevy's choice to backseat the Z28 option/branding has hurt this site the most. If they bring back the Z28 option to the forefront, I'd be willing to bet this site...

Re: Cheap good optispark?

O2 activity will vary depending on mode of operation. Engine temp makes a big difference too....they don't start working until the engine is up to a certain temp. The O2's are supposed to cycle in...

Re: Cheap good optispark?

No.....don't drive it. Cardo0 is just wrong in his direction to drive the car to fix it. You've got to track down what is causing the misfire.

Do you have a way to log the car? If you have a '95...

Re: Cheap good optispark?

There is something wrong with either the tune or the engine if it takes closed loop and a bunch of fuel trim learning to get it running. What you are describing is NOT normal and should not be...
