Re: 4l60E late shift

Actually, I went through some health issues several years back. I took a couple years away from CPT during that time, but I've been back at it for over 5 years now. We've restructured many things...

Re: 4l60E late shift

If this issue has just appeared without any changes to the vehicle, it's most likely the 3-4 clutches starting to go. GM didn't do us any favors with the 4L60E as far as the 3-4 clutch. There are...

Re: 1994 LT1 4L60E into a 1995 LT1 question

Just check to see if your TCC regulator valve is 1 or 2 piece.

Re: 1994 LT1 4L60E into a 1995 LT1 question

The 13TH pin in the '95 trans is for the PWM solenoid. Pay close attention to what you may think is a '94 valve body. The '94 and '95 valve bodies are the same casting but the TCC regulator valves...

Re: 95 transmission with 24x conversion

No. The 3-2 downshift strategy is different. To use a '95 transmission, you would have to swap the valve body, separator plate and internal wiring to a '96-up style.

Re: 1994 Z28 Modded LT1 Shifting Problems

The trans is going into "Limp Mode". You'll have to figure out a way to get the codes out of it to see what's causing it.

Re: Car doesnt shift into second

The "A" solenoid is closest to the input accumulator on the valve body.

Re: Car doesnt shift into second

...And a shift solenoid doesn't know if you're shifting manually. This sounds like a larger issue.

Re: Car doesnt shift into second

Sorry, I didn't catch this until now. I'm assuming you mean you replaced the shift solenoids? This doesn't really make sense because BOTH shift solenoids have to be ON for 1st gear. the "A"...

Re: Need Transmission help really bad!!!!

No. You have something burnt or broken inside the trans. You have 4 gear positions that will give you forward movement. It's hard to believe that any type of cable adjustment will cause no forward...

Re: Need Transmission help really bad!!!!

Changing the fluid won't give you back forward. You either have an issue with the forward clutches or the input sprag. If you pull the car down to manual 2nd gear, will it move forward then?

Re: Transmission Advice

3-4 clutch failure is very common in stock (and most "built") 4L60Es. GM designed atleast 6 different design flaws into these transmissions that promote the failure. Unfortunately, most shop either...

Re: Turbo 400 in a 95 lt1

The parts to make the speedo work have been discontinued from GM. IF you can find them, it's usually in the $200 range for the VSS and exciter ring. IF you can find the parts, they're a direct...

Re: Turbo 400 in a 95 lt1

A standard converter won't work. When I order a converter for a 400 behind an LS, I have to be specific about it.
How do you plan on operating your speedometer?

Re: Won't downshift

Most likely, you have a '96-up trans in the car. GM changed the downshift strategy in '96. It was different than the '95. They have a different resistance downshift solenoid, valve body, and...

Re: what parts do i need to fix no 2nd or 4th

The band is most likely the problem. Replacing it is pretty easy. The bigger concern should be, why did the band go? Are the 3-4 clutches also damaged? The largest percentage of the time that the...
