Re: Taillight

Ray, thanks for the reply. When I was looking at how corroded the sockets were, I wondered about replacing them. There are replacement sockets available, and my local auto parts store has ordered one...

Re: Taillight

Dug into this today, and it's bad news. When I was loosening the assembly, it looked as if there was water inside. Looked closer and saw a crack in the lens. Got the assembly out, and it was full of...

Re: Taillight

Thanks for the info guys. These apparently aren't as easy to change as the old muscle cars of the 60s. LOL

Taillight

I noticed the taillight doesn't come on on the passenger side of a '96 Firebird. I suspect the brake light also doesn't work. I have never changed a rear bulb, so don't know how many there are. I...

Stick with your OEM opti, unless it's a problem.

Re: Oil leak

These cars have a problem with the rear of the intake manifold leaking oil. I'm not saying this is the cause of the problem, but you can run your hand along the rear of the intake and see if it comes...

Re: Engine swap 95 LT1 to 83 Camaro

I still visit this site, everyday. It's helped me with my Firebird from time to time. But, I'm getting old now, and find it harder and harder to get on and off a creeper. Then, I think of the...

Re: 94 Z28 Camaro won't start. Pcm / optispark

A '94 is OBDI. The codes can not be flashed. Need to find someone with an OBDI scan tool/code reader.

Re: Need help with my LT1

Get an OBD1 code reader, if you can find one. Keep in mind the '95 scan tool port looks like an OBD2, but it's actually an OBD1. Or pick up a scan tool that handles both OBD1 and OBD2. I think I'd go...

Re: My experience with the company "Microfinish LLC" trying to get matching paint col

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. I just had a similar experience, except it didn't have to do with cars. I ordered a room air conditioner from Home Depot, as my local store didn't have any in...

Re: Brake problem

Forgot to mention air was found in the right front caliper. Bleeder on right front was rusted up and had to be replaced. Guess air could have got in through there some way.

Re: Brake problem

Just got the car back from the shop. The front caliper slide pins were rusted, especially the right front, so bad the calipers wouldn't work. They cleaned things up, used the proper grease on them,...

Re: Brake problem

I'm beginning to suspect the master cylinder. I had to send the car to a shop. I fooled around with it for a couple of hours, but we have snow and ice, and I don't have a garage. Almost froze and...

Calling all auto electric experts

Went to the drugstore this morning, everything working normally. Came back out, got in car and it started as normal. Turned the radio on, and it didn't work. What's going on here? I started checking...
