It seems fine during normal driving conditions. When Idling it approaches the red line but Im thinking it has always done this and then when accelerating it goes back to normal.

Im a little more knowledgeable about this situation now than years ago. I can tell you what is happening now.

I start the car cold...starts fine. Run till the engine is fully heated up ( 5-10 min)...
