As you are at a point where it is grinding, unhook the battery, unbolt the starter, and just move it enough to look at the ring gear teeth, only 2 bolts holding the starter on

Straight edge and a ruler, straight edge on the pickup, measure to the pan rail....straight release across the pan rails, ruler to the bottom of the pan

Usually around 1-11/2 qt low when the light comes on, but best way to check dipstick accuracy is to change the oil, fill with the correct amount, and see where it is on the stick

Unplug the plugs under the dash on the passenger...

Unplug the plugs under the dash on the passenger side, unbolt the pcm under the hood, pop the rubber grommet in the firewall behind the pcm loose , feed connectors through firewall

Well, that fact that the mufflers are gone is a large part of it, with the stock exhaust its a very minimal difference, search around and see what mufflers people like
