94Z with 93TA engine - possible PCM issue? - Newbie alert!

Newbie to PCM issues:

I have a '94Z with a transplanted low mileage '93TA engine. The PCM and intake from the 94Z were swapped over. Have been unable to get it started. I've checked for spark and...

Re: Engine swap help

Yeah, I didn't think so. I got confirmation of the VIN on May 7th from this site that it is indeed a '93 LT1 block so I'm kind of baffled at this point. I'm going to go on a hunch and figure that...

Engine swap help

I am in the process of putting a '93 TA LT1 into my '94 LT1 Camaro. I swapped over my '94's intake and pcm to the '93 engine. I noticed that the motor mounts that came with the '93 were different...

Re: Shifter plate removal on 94Z/Auto

I did a Bing search and found this:

"There is a small metal C clip on the front side of the knob. You can use a small flat head screwdriver to pry it off. Then twist and pull the knob right off....

Shifter plate removal on 94Z/Auto

I searched around but couldn't find any info on how to remove the stock shifter plate on a 94Z with 4L60E. Does the shifter knob come off somehow? Does the shaft for the shifter get unbolted from...

O2 sensor clip repair/replace?

I have an O2 sensor that one of the wires got pulled/broken off. It is the one that attaches to the outside of the O2 sensor that goes to the exhaust manifold. The wire appears to have been soldered...

Re: Coolant in CAT - problem?

Hey thanks! Fortunately for me I live in a remote enough area that emissions testing is not yet required. Good information you provided. You a diesel mechanic or something? :)

I'll give it try...

Coolant in CAT - problem?

OK, so I finally got the engine out of the car and am in the process of swapping the intake from the '94 to the '93 LT1. Upon removing the exhaust manifolds (yeah, no long tubes yet) I found rusty...

Re: Intake gasket question

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I had a feeling that was the way to go, especially since I already bought the Fel-Pro gasket set. I'll get some of the Great Stuff. The engine is on a stand so it...

Intake gasket question

This may be a really dumb question but I am in the process of swapping an intake from my 94 LT1 engine to a 93 TA LT1 engine. The intake from the 93 TA came off easy enough, in fact the intake...

Engine decipher?

Can anyone decipher this engine block stamp?

It is V0716SAP. I was told it was out of a '93 TA.

If this is the wrong forum to ask this feel free to point in the right direction.

Thanks,

Re: 97 LT1 parts for sale...need to move!

Do you happen to have a strut tower brace for this car that you are planning to update too?

I am looking for one (for the sole purpose of lifting the body to remove the engine from below).

I...

Re: 93 TA engine into 94 Z28

Thanks everyone for the prompt responses. I was hoping to swap over the 94's intake anyway because of the two areas that appear to be blocked off on the back side of the 93's intake. I'll be sure...

93 TA engine into 94 Z28

What are some of the things I would need to be aware of when swapping an engine from a 93 TA into a 94 Z28? I have both PCMs but would like to stick with the PCM from the Z28. I will also be using...

Re: Possible head problem?

Uh, no expert here, but I just found out my daughter's 94Z has a blown head gasket (possibly worse) and she was experiencing similar problems initially as you are. You may have caught it early...

Red face Re: 94 Z28 part out or whole car

OK, OK, before this gets out of hand here I wanted to let everyone know that I have made some headway on the homefront and it looks like I am going to keep it for now, and remove and replace the head...

Re: Misc LT1 stuff for sale: OBD2 PCM, BMR STB, etc...

Are the head gaskets and intake manifold gaskets still available? I'm making an assumption that they will fit a 94. Would you take $35 plus shipping to 17320?

Thanks,

Greg

Re: 94 Z28 part out or whole car

Yeah, it's been a combination of things. We've had 3 transmissions in the car and I have no time anymore to work on it. Fortunately I have AAA Plus because we're on a first-name basis with the...

94 Z28 part out or whole car

Well, my daughter's car overheated and either blew a head gasket or cracked a head. It's a teal '94 Z28 with 201,000 miles and T-tops. I just replaced the radiator, water pump (GM AC-Delco), coil,...

You know, that makes a lot of sense. I noted that I seemed to keep adding and adding fluid, and when I was opening the bleeder valves there was a lot of steam and rarely any fluid coming out. ...
