Re: 94 LT1 Corvette owner from Sweden having Opti problem

Fred, you are the man. That's why I recommended he come here instead of a lesser-manned Y-car forum.

Re: 94 LT1 Corvette owner from Sweden having Opti problem

I should mention that this version of scan9495 for the y-cars is far from prefect. There are some bad sections of most scans because of the interference with the CCM module. I could never fix that...

94 LT1 Corvette owner from Sweden having Opti problem

I have been communicating with Lars-Gunnar from Sweden about his Corvette's LT1 engine problems. It has the symptom of surging idle speed repeatedly while the engine is running at idle, not moving....

Re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

On the 93-95 cars those components should not be needed although it won't hurt to use them. Before 93, the ECM data output circuit was over-loaded by the cable components, so it needed some...

Re: BCM Functions?

Yes, fix the "dodgy" splices first.

Is there any chance that the starter interlock anti-theft feature is bypassed? If so, then the BCM may be cutting off the fuel enable signal because of a...

Re: BCM Functions?

How did you come up with a "higher resistance" fuse? I have never heard of such a thing for a given amperage.

Re: Z-28 1998 radio power line shorted sometimes.

You are very welcome. We really hate to see any fellow member spend more effort or money than absolutely necessary.

Re: Idle speed erratic 98 TA

The problem has disappeared. 2 days ago I swapped PCM's just to make sure. There was no change. I left the spare pcm installed overnight and swapped back yesterday morning. After that, the engine ran...

Re: Z-28 1998 radio power line shorted sometimes.

It only takes 2 minutes to do the repair. Touch the iron to the pad and let it melt. Add a small amount of solder if needed. Do that 5 times. Sooner or later you will need to do it somewhere on this...

Re: Z-28 1998 radio power line shorted sometimes.

Why do you need to replace it?

The number is the code for the ignition key (1 of 15). Saves the making of a new key if you order one to match your key.

Idle speed erratic 98 TA

New problem with the idle speed.. Yesterday my battery was dead due to me not shutting off the dash cam over the last 4 days. Jump started it with a battery charger. I noticed that the idle speed was...

Re: Monsoon Front Speakers

Not available anywhere as new. You may find some used ones on eBay. Match the part number on yours.

Other options:

1. Try to get a compatible speaker (2 ohms) from another speaker company. I...

Re: Z-28 1998 radio power line shorted sometimes.

Here is my procedure. Let me know if you need help. No need to access the radio/ac panel. You will need to be able to re-solder a few connections on the printed circuit board. Not very difficult, get...

Re: "Bricked" PCM repair

I don't get it at a price of $200. You can buy a used one with no problems for half that. Even the recyclers only charge $150 everyday. The part they will replace costs about $5 and they can do it in...

Re: LT1 will not enter field service mode

Should work. Just be aware that the LED has polarity. Make sure the negative end goes to the grey wire and the positive end goes to the brown wire.

I assume you mean to put the resistor in series...

It's not overly cautious at all. I made that mistake by back-driving the 12v fuel pump relay output from the PCM. Fried it. I had to disassemble the PCM and find a replacement for the driver...

Re: Passenger window down short ?

I would actually suspect the switch first. The switch has both 12v power and ground connected. All it would take to cause a short would be a broken actuator inside the switch. The direction of the...
