Re: Cheap good optispark?

I have long since given up on remanufactured store-brand Optisparks after how my PCM was responding to them. I can only tell you that I am approaching one year with my Petris Enterprises Optispark...

Good to know! I will keep them in mind for the future as my wiring harness will need complete replacement in the future. Thank you.

Re: So frustrated losing interest

I am glad you got her back up and running! The feeling is wonderful isn't it?!

You can cut out your own with gasket maker sold by Autozone. It was a royal pain to trim and get my cut-out...

Post Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

Because, no matter how you slice it, the TPI intake will still give me more torque from 2500 RPM to 4500 RPM than my stock intake which is better suited for drag strip racing and higher horsepower at...

Re: So frustrated losing interest

I will be glad to help you and give advice. Taking the Optispark out is not too bad but remembering how everything goes to put it back in may be an issue! I also need to warn you that will have to...

Re: Cheap good optispark?

I am happy you got your optispark working. Your initial problem and thrown code is very similar to the P1371 code my NAPA optispark was throwing. The car ran fine but the code would remain, even when...

Re: Need exhaust help..

Are these headers "shorties" or long headers? There is a big difference! If they are the shorter headers, meant to replace the stock exhaust manifolds, they should have no problems bolting up to...

Re: So frustrated losing interest

It is not your PCM but the optispark that will be the problem. The PCM is not getting necessary sensor information to run the engine so from what you have found, it is now pointing to your...

Re: So frustrated losing interest

The inline spark plug tester only lets you know if your opti is sending spark to the plugs, hence there is no internal corrosion of the contacts OR you don't have a broken rotor! I don't think this...

Re: So frustrated losing interest

Just as long as you have added fuel stabilizer then you should be fine. Personally, I try to buy pure gasoline whenever I can simply because I had two fuel pumps go bad over five years and the shops...

Re: So frustrated losing interest

I have come to an understanding with myself over my Trans Am WS6 that she is a financial commitment, especially to keep her driving as a daily driver and to drive her through New York State winters...

Re: Seats?

Well, aftermarket seats won't EVER look exactly like the original factory seats, and with many you will end up losing any power options that may have come with the factory seats. I use mine manually...

Re: Seats?

What do you mean by it needs "new seats"? Do the seats need to be reupholstered or are you looking to replace the factory seats with aftermarket ones?

If they need some cosmetic reupholstering...

Post Re: Sway bar?

Okay, let me try to understand what you did. You actually REMOVED the front sway bar and there is nothing currently there? This is also a daily driver?!

I started a thread about my suspension...

Re: BCM Functions?

How have things been since this post? Did repairing the wire splices resolve any issues? Is the BCM still making sounds like flicking circuit breakers?

Post Tuned Port Injection LT1 Project

This forum seems to be a safe place to post this project of mine given the fact it certainly is off-topic from known modifications to the LT1 engine and the whole performance aspect that comes with...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

Zero. My motivation comes with my desire to shift the torque curve to the RPM range I spend the MOST time driving and where I noticed the car's flat torque curve is most evident.

I shouldn't have...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

Thank you Injuneer. With everything that has been stated, I hope the mating and intake port alignment of the TPI base I have from a 1991 Corvette will not be an issue with LT1 cylinder heads. I do...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

There was an article published on how to successfully convert LT1 aluminum heads for use on the L98. The coolant passages on the LT1 heads had to be covered and welded off with added aluminum and...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

Based on the conversation from another forum, Stock for Stock, 1991 L98 versus 1997 LT1, the L98 will get the jump on the LT1 but nearing the end the LT1 will start gaining on the L98 since the TPI...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

I understand your father's advice, especially with regards to racing. What I wish to do is something I feel is worth the modest financial risk to make happen.

Actually, the LT1 engine set-up I...

Re: BCM Functions?

Explain how a mere fuse can help "re-solder" a bad connection in a BCM?! The situation I was dealing with was that I shorted out the circuit for ALL interior lights, including my factory gauge...

Re: If using a different intake manifold, could the LT1 still use stock program?

A step backwards, how? Furthermore, my goal is not to make the car go faster when I have speed limits that restrict me. Instead of a rear gear swap why wouldn't the stock TPI intake give me what I...

Re: BCM Functions?

You do realize it was a TEMPORARY measure to get power back to the circuit as to restart it, right? I could not restore power using the correct amp fuse! Once I put a higher rated fuse in I was able...

Re: BCM Functions?

If my wording is improper then I apologize! Just use a higher amp fuse was all that I was trying to say.
