I have a 4L60E out of a 95' Z with the 3-4 clutches shot. Had about 90k on it when removed. Would make a great core. I've kept it around for a long time thinking of doing the same thing.

Why would you only need a 94' Trans? I'm asking out of curiosity. Any 94'-97' LT1 tranny should work.

Thanks!

I guess I'm still confused. I have a 95' and currently have a 94' Trans in it. How would that be different from yours. Absolutely nothing was different for me?

Really?? thats wierd, My Tranny builder told me that the 95+ have 2 sloenoids and the 94 is the odd ball with obly one solenoid,
He said because of this the wiring Harness would be different and a PITA to change or addapt,

did you have to mod anything in order to make yours work??

Re: WTB: 4L60E? broken or functional

Didn't have to change a thing. Actually the only reason I knew it was out of a different year car was because I knew what car it came out of. The trannies(to the eye) were identical. I wouldn't have known the difference by just looking at em. I'm not saying your builder is incorrect, if what he is saying is true, I guess I just wasn't aware. I know 93's were different, but I thought all 94'-97's were exactly the same.
