Missing a pigtail connector all together... not sure how mine ever worked. Does anyone know what wires to cross on a pigtail if i bought one to make it a one wire alternator?

hey man just bought one of these....they arent that bad just go to a electric shop that rebuilds alts and starteres and stuff and they will give you one for next to nothing....just show them the plug. they are compatible with many different plugs from other motors that aer fuel injected from gm...i can get you one for like nothing

I was able to find one at the oreilies... problem was finding the red wire to splice it into int he harness... previous owner had it wired to the 12+ pos on the battery.

Then it made horrible supercharger type sounds for a few minutes. Thought i broke it. All is good now.

PS. anyone else with this problem, there is a loom with 4 wires going down right under the alternator, the red wire in there is supposed to go to the brown one on the pigtail form oreilies. The thick red wire on the pigtail goes to the +batt on the alternator.
