Cam swap parts

In about a month I'm planning on buying a cam, springs, and 1.6 full roller rockers. I'm trying to see what is all available. I'm looking for a strong mid-top end cam with a choppy idle. I plan on getting LE porting in a couple of months so the "no going to be full potential" isn't an issue, as long as it's not going to hurt my current HP. I would also like a good set of springs to handle the lift and 1.6 full roller rockers.

Just got done looking over some shelf cams and like the characteristics of the cc503. Is that a good cam for stock heads soon to be ported and how necessary is it to get it tuned? I just got it tuned by MadZ28, so I can still get a new .bin emailed to me with new cam specs.

why is it too big? idle bad? or power band is too high?
If that one is bad, I think I want a gm847 since i plan on getting le2 heads in a couple of months.
Anyone got a gm847 for cheap?

Please show me in his post where he states it's for a DD. Also, please review the rules of the for sale / wanted sections.

I'm not going to lie, the cam is obnoxious. It's an extremely lumpy idle, but it revs like crazy. It pulls great from mid to high range rpm. It'll probably be too much for your stock heads, but if your getting LE2 heads shortly, I'd go for it. If you want, call comp w/ the grind number and get their opinion.

I have this cam priced so cheap because people are afraid of it. My tolerance for obnoxious behavior is extremely high, so I didn't think it was an issue. You'll not find a cheaper performance cam.

Thanks,

Steve.

My z28 is my DD, but I'm all for lopey cams, just as long as I can brake properly and won't swallow gas. Right now I'm getting maybe 11 city and 23ish highway. I gun it a lot. As long as mileage isn't hit too hard, I'm good.
