Beware of selling LT4 intakes!

As most of us now know, GM has stopped offering LT4 intakes, which if you scroll down this Parts Wanted section you can see there is an immediate need for them. I just want others to beware of how much you sell them for. I would go ahead and ask quite a bit, because with the situation as it is, if you sell it for $500 or less, chances are you will see your intake on ebay a week later going for $1000 from the individual you sold it to.

Also, there is a rumor floating around (which I heard from a reliable source)that Edlebrok will be offering an LT4 style intake in a couple of months, so if you are in need of one, you may want to wait a little bit, instead of dropping some major cash for intakes that you can get later for a reasonable price.

Re: Beware of selling LT4 intakes!

thanks for being an ***. i like how this appeared just minutes after my post. some people who purchased these intakes would not have a problem selling them for the same price (or a little more) they purchased them for. I personally will sell my $9K motor if I have to spend $1000 on a damn intake. That and the rockers are all I need to finish it, and I have no problem selling it.

If anyone has one and isnt looking to be greedy, I would like to purchase one... however, I REFUSE to pay these prices. I will sell off my entire motor before I do.

I will pay up to $400. Anything above that... can kiss my ***. Ill sell my heads and start over. 14 months of no vehicle, and the heads are 2 weeks away from being in, after a 13 week waiting period... and now this.

Again, if you can wait 1-2 months, Edlebrok should have their LT4 style intake out, and I would think it would be a comparable amount to the GM LT4 intake. And then as a result, you will probably see no one bidding on overpriced ones on ebay.

I get out of the Marine Corps in 4 months, and am trying to take over a buisiness. Every day is causing me to loose tons of money. I call AFR daily to get them getting my heads out that way I can have my car back. Its my only vehicle.

Re: Beware of selling LT4 intakes!

I'm still sitting on my SLP LT4 exhaust Manifolds. Thinking of putting them back on if I ever have to pull the existing headers or do other internal work.

I think I paid about $250 for them, but wouldn't let 'em go unless I sold the car first. They were port-matched to my LT4 heads and are flawless.

They may not produce the power of Long tubes, but they a lot better than LT1 exhaust manifolds and probably equal to most shorties.

I make on average $500 a job... and it takes 12 hours to do a job (so a day). Minus supplies... I am loosing $400 a day on the business... which sucks when in 4 months you have no place to live. Im not asking for a pity party... lol, Im just explaining my situation so you guys understand my need for the car back as soon as possible.

Re: Beware of selling LT4 intakes!

Im taking over a boat restoration business. Its called Boatbright. I thought about getting a cheap car... but I was intent on finishing the Z first... then allowing for a larger amount of $ to pick up a work truck.
