Re: stock crank and a 200 shot
First off, wrong forum... now that I have that out of the way....
Im doing a similar setup up, so think of it this way. The stock crank was designed to hold less than 300 HP, a little more than that, sure, fine, but your talking about more than doubling the power output of that stock piece of equipment. Save yourself the headache and get a new crank now. I went with the forged ZZ4, got it for 250$ shipped off eBay.

Re: stock crank and a 200 shot
If your concerned about if the crank will fail from the power at the engine plus spray, not sure what a safe ballpark number is. But I'm pretty sure that when you double the power, the bearings only see 25% more stress. Can't remember where I read that from but I can check if you want.
Re: stock crank and a 200 shot
Well.....let me see here, the stock crank will hold approximatly 648 rwhp with forced induction for three 8 second passes before you have to rebuild.....I would go with a forged Cola crank and let that be done
Re: stock crank and a 200 shot
jeff, your gay. and i also will be there 7:00. we can put your name to a test, i was only 1 1/2 seconds ahead of you last time think i may stretch it to 2 sec.
oh wait, i'll run in reverse. that will make it fair.

Re: stock crank and a 200 shot
I'd say it's a bit of a crap shoot... & not a very good one at that. I know of one stock short block Impala that had 200 & 250 sprayed through it regularly for a couple years (known as the Cherry Bomb over on the Impala Forum) & it never broke... & I know people who launched parts through the oil pan with 100 shot first time out...
If it were me I wouldn't take the chance... compare the cost of a good crank with what it would cost to re-do everything you already built up because you saved a few hundred clams & it just does not seem logical.. One instant of a fuel problem & youre done
