Perfect Winter Project (T-top conversion)

I have finally decided to part out my 95 z. So, I have a complete t-top conversion kit. I am wanting to get $350 plus shipping OBO. I am in southern Illinois.

This is easy to do guys and looks cool. Mine actually seal better/easier than any factory I have ever seen. I did mine on a car with 120k on the clock with no problems. Took about 10 hours in the driveway with some pretty basic/cheap tools. Spent another 4 on touchups. Looks great now.

Bump for ya man.

They aren't much more than that brand new are they? I might be interested at a lower price. If this is truly easy and I could really do it myself I might consider a conversion someday. What's the hardest part of it? I'd be afraid I'd mess something up, and I bet a shop would charge $500 labor for it. If I could get the kit for say ~$400 and truly believed I could do it myself ....hmmm, I might be a taker. How dark are these? I always thought if I did T-tops I'd want to do the lightest possible tint on them so they'd be really easy to see through. I realize you'd have to have some or you'd bake like a casserole.

Actually I was just going to lower the price. I'll go to $425 plus shipping. They are pretty dark but they are NOT dot matrix style. I'll send you pics.

jsetzer-thanks

The hardest part is findng the balls to start cutting. The top where you cut the skin off is fiberglass and cuts like butter. "Hardest" physical part is cutting off the side supports over the windows. I used a sawzall and was sore for days.

There are several guids on here and I would be willing to help anyone wanting to do it. Go for it, it made mine look/feel like a new car.

I think I'd really rather buy new to be honest, or pick one up off of someone who hasn't used it ...I'm concerned that it has perhaps "molded" to your car in a sense and perhaps wouldn't seal/fit as well on mine due to that. I am still interested in learning about it though and figured I'd give you a bump, anyone have a link handy?

To get these parts new you are going to pay BIG bucks $$$$.

Don't worry about them not fitting your car, they will fit fine. Do a search on "T-Top Conversion", tons of info is there.

Thanks. ricerdude (hehe) .....keep me in mind if you have trouble selling it. If you can provide pics of complete kit and go down a little more I might be interested even though I have concerns about it being used, depending on how the money situation is after Christmas ;)

Re: Perfect Winter Project (T-top conversion)

I will (hehe, sorry I had to get you back), but I will include all hardware, t-tops, weather stripping, and interior plastics. The headliner is up to the buyer because from what I hear shipping is a pain. They're actually still in the car, I just haven't removed them yet. I can email anyone interested pics.
