Increasing horsepower and torque is as simple as pushing a button with Hypertech's Power Programmer III! Simply plug the Power Programmer into the underdash diagnostic plug, answer a series of "Yes/No" questions, and the Power Programmer does the rest. The Power Programmer is much more than a tuning chip. It is a self-contained automotive tuning computer!

When you connect the Power Programmer to your vehicle, its "smart" program instantly recognizes your vehicle's powertrain by reading the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN contains specific information on the engine, transmission, and drivetrain, which the Power Programmer decodes before it downloads the Power Tuning program that is precisely tailored to your car or truck.

The Power Programmer lets you choose Hypertech's Power Tuning program for regular 87 octane or premium 93 octane gasoline. Both options improve performance without detonation. After the tuning program is selected, the Programmer automatically installs the program and allows you to access and reprogram the vehicle's computer to function properly with aftermarket components such as non-stock tire sizes and rear-end gear ratios.

The Power Programmer is incredibly powerful, but it is also incredibly easy to use. Reprogramming does not require any tools or knowledge of cars or even computers. Plus, you can return to OEM (stock) programming in just minutes.

arn't those programers VIN specific?

Muncie4sp 11-12-2006 11:47 PM

yes but when you put the car back to stock (taking the tune off the car) the programmer is reset and can be used on a different car.

Will this work on a 1993 z28?

Does it give a noticeable power increase?

Thanks
Steve

Im selling it because my car is going back to stock and I still have the programmer for sale.
It does "re-tune" the car to help it run better/faster but unfortunatly i did not have the supporting mods to get the full use out it. The main feature i liked about it was the ability to adjust the shift points (rev limiter) and how easy it is to use.

What supporting mods are required to get the full use of the programmer? With the exeption of a few aftermarket parts, my car is stock. Let me know if it would be worth my time and money. Thanks. By aftermarket I mean MSD wires, cap and rotor and BBK pulley.

Sorry ive been out of town due to a death in the family :(

The box/instructions views and explains that the 160* thermostat and the hypertech fan switch will play an important role with the programmer. As far as anything else the programmer allows you to adjust for what you have on the car.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Sorry to hear about your loss bud. I do have the 160 t-stat but do not have the fan switch. Is that an expensive item? And how much trouble is it to install? Let me know and do you still have the programmer and how much to ship to 78216? Thanks.

Chevy16 11-20-2006 07:53 PM

do you know if it'd work on my 96 v6..?
