97 Trans Am Built 4L60E (CHEAP)

This trans was profesionally built. Has only a couple thousand miles since its rebuild. I am going to a Turbo 350 trans and an old school 377 stroker. I have already sold the motor and the trans is all i have left and i need to move it. I'll take $400 for it and guarantee it to work perfectly. My email is jkw400@yahoo.com

I'm pretty sure it will, they changed in 98 along with the ls1. But if i'm not mistaken 93-97 transmissions will work

I remember hearing 94 trans are specific for 94 model year. 95-97 are the same and all ls1 trans are the same.

You may be correct on that, might want to do a little homework so we will know for sure.

I just went through this, I just, I mean JUST bought a new tranny. The 94 transmissions are specific to a 94 model, there are subtle changes with the updated 4L60E transmissions, and they are not compatabile. Although the bolt pattern is the same, and its the same electronic system that drives the tranny, modifications must be made to make it work with your car.

I tried searching but couldnt come up with anything. Do you know what is required to make a 97 (his tranny) work in a 94?

I'm very interested in this also.

What kind of parts are in it? I do not need a converter & would you consider shipping this?

I believe it is a matter of servos. As far as the vital componets are concerned, they are the same. However, I believe there is an extra cervo in the 95 and up's that is incompatible with the 94 computer..... I think I once saw the two pulled apart at LT1 Daves down in Ohio, and he pointed out the differences, be it small, it may not be worth it. Here are a few J yards who have a 94 LT1 trans in stock, along with their phone numbers and prices...

Saratoga Auto Parts (Florida)
1800-456-8144...$850.00 shipped

Quality Auto Parts (Alabama)
251-634-8239...$650.00 shipped

Cantleys Auto Parts (Ohio)
614-274-7519...$400.00 not shipped

I hope this helps you find a trans, if not, let me know as I have a few other leads that I never played out.

It was built by B&B Performance. Not the same B&B that makes the exhaust. I guess I could ship it, truck freight is a killer though. Mike at B&B told me this trans is rated at 700-800HP. It has an awesome shift kit in it, not so bad that it is annoying but it shifts really firm and has no hesitation at all. I don't have a stall with it.

I had rather have the cash but I would consider trading for parts. I also have a set of underdrive pulleys for a 97 LT1. The parts i am needing right now are.......
Racing seats
K-member (for traditional small block)
Pro Star wheels
Pin on hood
HALS
Let me know what you got, i'll consider it!!

FYI, I had a tranny shipped to me from Alabama and it was only $65 bucks truck freight. You might want to check into that for shipping. UPS or something is pretty much gonna bend you over.

Trust me your not going to get burn on this trans. This transmission was on an LT1 bolt on car so obviously it hasn't had an ungodly amount of power on it. I'm going with a 377 stroker with ATI Procharger and a th350 trans is the only reason i removed this 4l60e. The converter was sold to my best friend to put in his 96 camaro. It shifts very firm without hesitation, i can give you Mikes number at B&B Performance in case you might have some questions.

If you want to package it and ship it I will take it. I need a trans now to get running again. Zip is 32669 for a shipping reference, it shouldnt be that much.
