V6 to Z/28 conversion?

does anybody on here know how much work it is to do a LT1 conversion on a 95 camaro v6? motor, probably an auto, and a rearend? i picked up a 95 v6 camaro on the weekend, very low km's but it was hit in the passenger quarter pannel and the hatch is cracked etc. im gonna get it fixed as soon as i get my other car done for the racing season. it only has 57,000km on a 95, its forest green with t-tops and 2 tone gray int. very mint, cant wait to start on it, but i thnk a v6 just wont be enough for me, even for the daily driver. p.s. i got all the parts for it, plus i can get the stuff i dont have pretty easy, like the drivetrain etc. how much do ya think the conversion would cost? or is it worh it? im not too familiar with these cars, not old enough for me yet lol

around 5000 dollars or more is my guess...to get new engine, new tranny, new back end... (3000USD) some dude is just rebuilding a v6 into a v8 on the camarov6 message boards, and yeah his cost was around 3000USD but he got great deal on an engine

Craig (Draco) is selling his stock Lt1, you might want to talk to him about his stock parts. I think he also should have a stock 10-bolt which needs rebuilding.

T56's tranny's will cost you a pretty penny, unless you go auto you should be able to find a 4L60E for a not bad price.

I figure the drivetrain will cost roughly $5K Cdn.

I have a 10 bolt: 130,000kms on it, relocation brackets and no flaws. I need some money for a 9inch. I figure it's worth $300.

i can get the motor and stuff for pretty cheap cuz my family owns 4 auto wreckers, thats how i got this car, i bought it off icbc, for 3,000.00 and its in mint condition, ive never seen a stock 95 that is so clean, i figure a Z/28 in even half that condition/milege would be at least 12-14g and im in it for 3+3 to fix, im still way under budget.

it was only an idea, i already got my other car that has a crazy v8, ill probably just use this one as a daily driver and in a year or two turn it into a proper dedicated drag car, full tubular chassis, 4 link, coil over race suspension, proper drag motor 13:1 comp. lol just your average 9 second rocket oh well, the idea is there.
