I looked at the Texas Mile website and I was wondering if there were any events like this on the west coast. The Texas Mile is basically a 1mile drag race. Just you and your car going flat out Top Speed. They have videos on you tube.

 

Closest one that I know of is in Nevada at Nellis that is hosted by the ZR-1 group. Happens in the fall.

 

do a google on East Coast Timing Association or something like that. they are the ones that sparked the idea of the Texas Mile for the NASA folks.
