Just go anywhere, I'm sure many shops can tell you whats wrong, just make sure you pick the right one when you having it rebuilt need be.

Re: rearend shop

if its whining, the only fix will be new gears .. might as well put in 3.73s or 4.10s ..

Its not whineing.... its more making a "whooble" / humming sound.... I had my car at midas....and they checked the outside of the rear/ brakes and could not see anything.....they told me to go to a rearend shop for a better inspection

I use Ian Woods at IWE Rear Ends Only (Burnaby). Yes, he's not cheap but never any issues after though...

well Todd, there is really noway to fix anything in a rear end without taking it apart ... once u take gears out and put the same ones back in, they will always whine, or whine louder if they whined before taking them out .. so everytime u take ur rear end apart, u might as well put new gears in ... but gears themselves are cheap anyway ..

and yeah, DONT go to IWE .. the guy is the biggest ***** and will not work on your 10 bolt 4th gen rear ... ask Rybar for the horror stories.

I'll second that, I'd rather drive my car off a cliff than take it to that ***** Ian at IWE.

Rear-End specialties in Langley will take care of you.

I didn't have any problems with IWE, but then again, I didn't deal with Ian. This was for my 3rd gen though, with the Aussie 9 bolt.

Well, if Ian pissed in your Corn Flakes then I can see why you'd be so negative, but I've had nothing but good work, on time, and at the price quoted. He's done three different rears for me over the last 5 years and they all gave great service after. Just my personal experience.
